If you’re a performing artist, teacher, or therapist, you are a

VOICE PROFESSIONAL

If you use your voice as your primary vehicle for communication and creativity in your professional work, then you are a voice professional.  You live by your voice.  If you know how to take care of it, listen to it, and develop your expressive potential, you’ll be much more effective in your work.

Thinking about it now, maybe it sounds obvious and simple, but the process of exploring your voice is complex… and sometimes even disheartening.

You’ve probably already begun…

You sang in a choir, took a workshop or private lessons, or even tried to compose something.

Maybe you stopped there, or maybe you managed to launch a personal project, form a group, or teach your own classes.  Even then, you faced moments of doubt, frustration, conflict, or stress, and you just didn’t have the tools to move forward the way you wanted.

Does this resonate with you?

Why does this happen?  The voice connects so many aspects of our being:  body, emotion, personality, and so much more.  That’s why voice work can be so challenging–physically, emotionally, and mentally.  It requires courage and discipline, and a willingness to take risks and face our shadow sides.  It requires a supportive environment, where you can count on those who can help you work in an integrative way, to channel your best and get to the heart of what you need to express.

3 OBSTACLES THAT HOLD US BACK…

(…and how we’ll help you overcome them)

3 OBSTACLES THAT HOLD US BACK

(…and how we’ll help you overcome them)

LACK OF BODY AWARENESS →

The voice doesn’t just come from your throat… your whole body is involved.  We’ll teach you techniques from theatre training, yoga, and massage to increase your breath capacity, improve posture, and release physical and vocal tension.  This will help you achieve greater awareness of your instrument’s mechanics and a healthier, more efficient use of your voice.

EMOTIONAL OVERWHELM →

Drawing on practices from Roy Hart Work and Yoga Psychology, we’ll show you how to channel what you’re feeling into your sound, opening expressive possibilities while cultivating a calm inner state–facing your fears from within a supportive environment.  We’ll help you stock an invaluable toolkit for understanding and overcoming emotional conflict, stage fright, and creative blocks.

INCONSISTENT PRACTICE →

With over 20 years of professional experience in popular singing, contemporary theatre, and voice pedagogy–guiding people with and without prior experience–we know what delivers results and what doesn’t.  We’ll share our most effective strategies to help you cultivate a personal practice that meets your specific needs, using concrete action steps to sharpen your intuition and creativity.

It isn’t easy being a voice professional.

Without integrative tools and a support network to help us through the difficult moments, most of us suffer from overuse, misuse, or abuse of our voices at some point.

With our best intentions of sharing our talents on stage, in the classroom, or in our therapeutic practice, we end up feeling exhausted and saturated working in service to others, forgetting our own needs, and sometimes even the reason we chose this path in the first place…

…and if you’ve lost your passion and motivation in this profession… forget about it!

As a voice professional with performances to give, students to teach, or clients to attend, you can’t afford to be out of shape or out of touch in this craft.  Your voice is your most valuable tool.  It’s your source of creativity and expression, and what can most help you to stand out in your professional field.  That’s why it’s crucial to take care of your instrument, motivating and developing your voice daily.

RUMBOS Voice Studio presents

FOLLOWING YOUR VOICE

*

A program combining Vocal Coaching and Roy Hart Work through individual and group sessions, designed to help you manifest creative potential, break through limitations, and discover your expressive purpose, in your own time.

If you’re a performing artist, voice teacher or creative therapist, FOLLOWING YOUR VOICE will give you the chance to experience transformative changes in your voice, your way of listening, and how you present yourself in your life, empowering you with essential tools for taking your professional practice to the next level.

**

HOW IT WORKS…

*

FOLLOWING YOUR VOICE is a year-long membership program divided into four modules.  We acknowledge that every voice is unique, and therefore the path to achieving vocal discoveries and developing creative potential can also be unique for each person. So you can choose to take one module, combine or repeat modules, according to your needs.

WHAT DOES MEMBERSHIP MEAN?

Membership gives you the possibility to be part of our community, where you can dedicate yourself to your vocal process with greater commitment and achieve the results you want.  Plus you’ll get access to bonuses and special gifts that we designed especially to help you get the most out of your work.  Each module includes a certain amount of group and individual sessions, and you have until the end of the module to take all of your sessions.  The more modules you take, the lower your monthly payment.

WHY MEMBERSHIP?

The answer is simple. If you want substantive results, we only know one way: A conscious and consistent practice that you can sustain over time.

After seven years of offering our work on a month-to-month basis, we could see the evidence in our clients.  The people who kept participating consistently were the ones who showed the most significant progress, especially when their peers continued to work alongside them with the same level of commitment.  These are the people who bring their goals to fruition, producing concerts, recording albums, directing their own classes, working abroad, etc. For this reason, we changed to a membership format, to offer you what yields the best results: a continuous process.

REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal prerequisites to participate in this program.  All you need is a desire to grow, a willingness to take creative risks, and a sense of commitment.  In each session, we work with adults both with and without previous vocal studies because we’ve found that our diversity of experiences creates a more stimulating learning environment for everyone.

Over the years we’ve observed that our work resonates more in people with a solid foundation in theatre, music, dance, psychology, yoga, voice and speech therapy, sound therapy, Biodanza, or similar fields.

TESTIMONALS

TESTIMONIALS

“In Rumbos they taught me that the voice is an instrument with unique personality.  That to be able to sing, technique alone is not enough.  That we must know and fully accept our voice.  That this is a constant, profound, and sometimes complex process….  There aren’t always certainties, but it’s tremendously illuminating.

Thank you Audrey and Andrés for the generosity with which you deliver your knowledge, for the guidance, and for loving what you do.”

Gonzalo Lavanderos, Yoga Teacher, Singer, Voice and Singing Teacher

“On my journey with Rumbos … I recognized my voz.  I accepted and loved it. I learned that what I used o think of as a mistake is nothing more than a step closer to the discovery of my whole self.  I understood the value of the spontaneous impulse as a source of creation, and how to care for it and sustain it to make a song…and so much more. Today I’m about to release my first solo album … and present myself to the world knowing who I am in my shift toward the path of performance. All of this thanks to the warmth, professionalism and integrative perspective of Audrey and Andrés, the beautiful teachers with whom my vision of the voice changed forever…”

Camila Álvarez, Singer/Songwriter, Psychotherapist, Biodanza Facilitator (c)

“After a lot of searching for places and singing teachers, I found myself with Rumbos… With Audrey and Andrés, who knew how to bring their vocal experiences to a friendly, sensitive, stimulating, and rigorous methodology. They have managed to develop a process of teaching, both stirring and captivating at once, that makes us face our greatest fears and difficulties, with tenderness and acceptance. But above all, they motivate our abilities, to bring out the best in ourselves and our talents. […]

Thank you for the professionalism, the sensitivity, the pleasure, the inspiration, the discoveries, and for allowing us to know and use our own voice.”

Jocelyn Stephens, Actress, Voice and Singing Teacher, University Professor

What is Roy Hart Work?2019-12-23T10:25:48-03:00

“For me, Roy Hart Work explores the intimate relationship between the voice and the unique person behind it: the profound connection between “singing” and being, in which the creative use of the voice–in its full range of possibilities–becomes the most revealing expression of who we are as artists and as people.

Curiously, Roy Hart is famous for having said ‘I have no method.’ In this ‘no-method’ approach to voice pedagogy, I follow my intuition in the moment, based on what I perceive to be the need of the voice I hear, the body I see, and the presence I feel from each person. I guide people to connect with their unique creative impulses, expressing what each voice has to say.” ~AP

Audrey is one of the only certified Roy Hart voice teachers in Latin America.

What is Vocal Coaching?2019-12-23T10:27:28-03:00

“When initiating a vocal, musical or performance project, it’s essential to set concrete objectives, design a realistic work plan, and count on those who can help you to channel your best. This is what coaching is all about. Whether you’re a performing artist, a voice teacher, or a creative therapist, vocal coaching offers you an interactive process in which you and your coach look for the most effective way to reach your professional goals, cultivating your personal creative genius.” ~AZ

When you say “professional”… Can I take this program if I’m not a voice professional, or if I don’t have prior vocal experience?2019-12-23T10:29:33-03:00

To participate, we do not require previous voice experience or a professional degree, but rather a certain degree of professionalism: a serious and generous attitude, with a clear sense of commitment, and a mature willingness to take creative risks.

In our work, we combine adults with and without previous vocal study because we’ve found that our diversity of experiences creates a more stimulating learning environment for everyone. That being said, we’ve observed that our work resonates more in people with a solid foundation in theatre, music, dance, yoga, psychology, speech therapy, sound therapy, Biodanza, or similar fields.

Will I get a diploma or certificate?2019-12-23T10:31:26-03:00

Yes. We will provide certificates for completed work.

Live Roy Hart work with Audrey may count toward certificates issued by the Roy Hart Centre in France, if their current requirements allow.

Do I have to enroll in all 4 modules, or can I take them individually?2019-12-23T10:35:39-03:00

The four modules of FOLLOWING YOUR VOICE are designed to be taken in order. However, you can choose to take one module, or combine or repeat modules according to your needs. We cannot guarantee dates or content for future years in advance. We will publish that information each year when we open registration.

How does membership work?2019-12-23T11:55:29-03:00

Membership gives you the possibility to be part of our community, where you can dedicate yourself to your vocal process with greater commitment and achieve the results you want.  Plus you’ll get access to bonuses and special gifts that we designed especially to help you get the most out of your work.  Each module includes a certain amount of group and individual sessions, and you have until the end of the module to take all of your sessions.  The more modules you take, the lower your monthly payment.

Can I take just one of the intensive workshops?2019-12-23T12:04:53-03:00

Of course!

There are only 10 spots per workshop.

Keep in mind, the bonus gift of the Online Practice Club only comes with your enrollment in the full Professional Voice Mentorship module (both intensive workshops).

Ready to take your practice to the next level?
