A central theme in our projects is traveling–exploring an international repertoire that features vocal, musical, and theatrical aesthetics from different genres, cultures, languages and eras.  Through free improvisation, we develop and interpret unique renditions of songs, devise original work, and create instant compositions in live performance.

In our performances, we investigate the special relationship between voice and music, and the creative possibilities that unfold when one or the other takes the lead.  As artists we seek to present pieces that unveil the full spectrum of the voice and the music’s capacity to stimulate our senses of perception.  In doing so, we invite our audiences to live a musical experience by taking in the sound, emotion, story, physical presence, imaginary world, and creative voice of each performer on stage.  RUMBOS Voice Studio explores new creative directions and artistic languages that test the limits of traditional vocal, musical and theatrical performance.
